Fourth Climb
< Back to Third Climb
  The weather was spectacular,
It was in the 50's, the sun was shining, and the air was clear.  This was an
ideal day to be out here!  So far it had been an easy enough ride for most folks and
I am sure the scenery was not wasted on us.

  Almost right away we reached
the hill reported earlier in the week.  Thankfully, this hill had thawed and the snow
and most of the ice was gone.  Still, it was imposing, so I went up alone.  At
the top, the sun hit the windshield making it difficult to negotiate the left then right
turns required to steer between the rocks and avoid the cliff to the left...

I pulled far ahead so that
all the vehicles would be able to get up the hill and park on level ground.  Then I
went back and started spotting people up the hill.

  There wasn't much to
challenge except the turn at the end because of the sun and rocks.  Everybody made it
on their first try.  It was, for me, the most fun climb of the day.  I'm not so
sure my Dad liked all that blue sky in front of us knowing that there was a cliff just to
the left...  He had made the comment when I invited him:  "Sure, I'll go -
as long as you don't take us over the edge of a cliff...."  Hmmm, the things we
  say in jest...
